Mission: Impact India: December 2013

The Who, What, Where, When & Why:

Who is going? So far there are 13 of us, but we won’t have a final number until the air plane tickets are purchased and the passports turned in. Please check back in June. But if you'd like to check out our church website click here.

What will we be doing? We will be working with the Priscilla project, a program that trains families starting churches in villages that don't already have one. The Priscilla project teaches these families a trade like bicycle repair, tailoring or how to start a beauty salon. In order for these families to begin a church, they need an income and reason to be there. The Priscilla project helps to give them that. Our job will be to assist in that mission. We will also teach music and American style English. Finally we will be encouraging believers and sharing the good news of Jesus’ love. We will be living and revealing the Kingdom in every way we can.

Where are we going? Delhi in northern India, and we will also be out in smaller villages to the south, east, and west of the city. Check out the Google map here.

When will we be going? November 23-December 2, with the possibility of that changing just slightly, depending on circumstances.

Why are we going? Because Jesus told His people, and His church to go and make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). God has been at work putting our church (Crossroads) and the Lal’s (who we sponsor and work with in India) into a partnership. Crossroads supports them financially and because of that, we get to be a part of what God is doing in India through church planting and through the Lal’s heart for providing an education for the kids who live in the slums around their city. Getting to actually go and be hands-on in our partnership is a great next-step for us, and allows our church family to be much more intimately involved in the Lal’s ministry in India.
